USElectionNews.org Forecasts Purple Map In 2012

Based on the site http://uselectionnews.org/, currently the 2012 election map is switching to purple. It is an absolutely alarming change for each political party, that customarily turn to particular regions for steadfast support.

The fact is, based on the results of an investigation of Gallup survey info, compiled by the respected news magazine Politico, party connection or alliance within regions that elected Barack Obama in the fall of 2008 have witnessed a marked move to the center and in many cases towards the center right. States who fell on the red or blue, or Republican and Democratic sides, in the past presidential cycle now move both ways - or wind up appearing purple on any electoral chart, that means all of them seem to be competitive or at least up for grabs in the next US Presidential election coming up in 2012.

In 2008, 30 out of the 50 states were solidly blue. Cut to today, just 13 US states are now solidly Democratic and most of these are in the Northeast sector. Conversely, in 2008, only 5 states could be called solidly Republican ones. Another 5 US States were also considered as being right-leaning. And, the majority of these so-called red-states are in the West and include Idaho, Wyoming, Alaska, Kansas and Utah.

8 purple or swing states were counted in the 2010 Congressional elections. This creates a whole assortment of potential scenarios for the large field of presidential hopefuls. Instead of just Ohio and Florida, campaigns will now have to set their sights on swinging other once staunchly Democratic states like Pennsylvania to their side. And, as the next twenty or so months that remain between now and voting day 2012, both sides will have to vie not only for the nation’s collective attention, but will also have to pander to the swing-state specific issues that could very well get them elected.
