4 Of The Best Places To See In Japan
When you are planning a trip to another country, why not visit Japan? In terms of culture and tradition uniqueness, perhaps no other nation can match this magnificent country. From beautiful natural resources to their food and the latest in technology, the Japanese people indeed has a lot to offer. Here are some of the best places to see in Japan.
If you are not that familiar with Japan, then you should know that it is an archipelago with 6,852 islands. On its largest island can be found its capital, Tokyo City which is also the most populated urban area in Japan and among the top in the world. Having said that, the country has an estimated 127 million population.
So if you really want to experience the best places to visit in Japan, here is a short list that I have prepared.
Mt. Fuji
It is the highest elevation in Japan with its height measured at 12,389 feet. It last erupted in 1707 but up to this day it is still considered to be an active volcano. It is among the most popular scenery not just in Japan but in the rest of the world as well. When you say Japan, many people would immediately think of Mt. Fuji. There are so many things that you can do there but the best would be to hike to its peak. In 2009 alone, there is an estimated 300,000 tourists who climbed the volcano. If you want to visit, go during the months of July to August when the weather is most favorable.
Itsukushima Shrine
It is popularly known as Miyajima. It is a Shinto shrine that can be found on the Itsukushima island. The shrine has been designated as a National Treasure by the Japanese government and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This shrine is actually a complex with the first of its establishments erected in the 6th century. It is a unique sight to see because it was built on the bay so that it would appear to be floating in the sea.
Japan's Hot Springs
Japan has been blessed by many hot springs, perhaps because the country is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire. Many tourists both local and foreign frequent these springs to bathe and relax their tired bodies and minds. Some of the more popular of these springs include: Kirishima, Shirahama, Toyako, Shibu, Kusatsu, Nikko, Hanamaki, Kinosaki, and Noboribetsu just to name a few. There are hundreds of these hot springs scattered all over Japan.
Cherry blossom festivities
The country is very popular for its beautiful and vibrant cherry blossom trees and the Japanese people have created festivals to celebrate these trees. They hold parties and markets showcasing their local traditions from the arts to the food fare. If you want to experience these festivities, better go between the months of March up to May.
Without a doubt Japan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and also among the most diverse in terms of its culture and natural sights. There are other great places to see in Japan and usually even a month's stay in this country will not be enough to experience at least half of their top tourist destinations. You may even want to try some English speaking jobs in Japan if you want to work and travel there.
