Summer Holidays To Iceland

Discover The Islands Of Tropical Fuerteventura And Lanzarote

If you are thinking about a holiday in Lanzarote this summer then it´s worth bearing in mind that you could visit three different Canary Islands for the price of one. As both La Graciosa and Fuerteventura are located very near to this Spanish owned and perennially popular holiday destination.

There are in fact seven Canary Islands to be explored, make that eight if you include tiny La Graciosa. Which boasts a population of some 600 residents. All of these islands enjoy great weather and sunshine whatever the time of the year. And for those seeking a good value break towards the end of the year, they offer much lower prices than other destinations such as the Caribbean at that time of the year.

Many tourists are beginning to book villas and apartments in Lanzarote online with the actual owners or through one of the local travel agencies nowadays, thanks to the advent of internet. Just about all Lanzarote holiday villas include their own individual private pools, combined with an abundance of other luxury mod cons. Whilst a good number of apartments can be found on managed and nicely landscaped holiday complexes.

You'll never be short of an abundance of things to do and explore on Lanzarote island but if you are staying in any of the good quality villas in Lanzarote that are offered for rent and fancy a rest from the poolside then a day trip over to the gorgeous neighbouring islands. As both La Graciosa and Fuerteventura can be easily reached in under 30 minutes and the sea crossing to either most days is pretty calm, especially during the summertime.

Fuerteventura - or strong wind - is the second largest island in the Canaries chain. But despite it´s size it is still largely untouched by tourism despite welcoming close to 1.5 million visitors year. And is not at all densely populated either. Just outside Corralejo lies the Dunas National Park, home to some 16km of golden sands. Whilst down in the south are the long sandy stretches of the beaches in Jandia, which extend for miles and which are particularly popular with German visitors.

By comparison La Graciosa is much smaller and even less developed. There are no proper roads here for example - and as a result no cars. So instead the locals get around din 4x4´s, which also double up as taxis - taking tourists around the island to the best beaches, such as La Concha in the north, on the opposite side of the island to the sole conurbation of Caleta del Sebo. The pace of life here is very slow and as a result visiting La Graciosa also feels a little like stepping back in time.

For a fantastic sunshine holiday anytime of the year, a trip to Lanzarote will definitely leave you glowing and fully rested for when you return home.
