Discover What Sagada Can Offer You

If you want a tropical vacation and one that is not just about beaches but mountains and hiking adventures then you should try Sagada, Philippines. It is one of the currently growing major tourist destinations in that country frequented by all sorts of tourists.

While there are many great reasons why anyone would want to visit this mountain town, often it is because of its cold climate. It is much colder when compared with all the major cities in the Philippines even with Baguio City which is already considerably cold considering you are in a tropical country. The coldest months are from November to February although the summer months of March to May can also be very cold.

Do you want to spend time in a serene village located high up in the mountains? Then you should go on a Sagada trip. There are so many things that you can do there such as camping, caving, hiking, and just simply enjoying the tasty food fares served by many of the restaurants there. Just make sure that you will be staying for at least three days so you can experience everything that Sagada has to offer.

So to help you have a good idea on what you can expect in Sagada, here are some suggestions and tips you may want to consider.

Are you fond of waterfalls? Then you are in luck because there are two wonderful waterfalls in Sagada. The larger of the two is called the Bomod-ok Falls or also popularly known as Big Falls. It is situated just outside of Sagada and you will need to hire a vehicle to reach the jump off point and then walk your way down the rice terraces to reach it. Try to walk from your inn to the falls and it will take about 4 hours all in all. The Bokong Falls is the other one and much smaller in comparison to the Big Falls.

There are also many interesting trails that you can take around this area so if you are an avid hiker then you will definitely enjoy your visit. Admittedly most of the trails are quite easy for the skilled hiker but you will surely appreciate the beautiful surroundings especially the foliage and the view of the distant mountains. You can also go up Mt. Ampacao, which is really an easy climb to do and have a great view of the rest of the area.

Want to go caving? Then there is the Lumiang and the Sumaguing caves. The latter is the more popular of the two although both are interconnected. It is common practice to start with the Lumiang cave and then emerge from the Sumaguing cave. With the help of a guide it can take you at least 2 hours to finish that adventure.

A Sagada trip is never complete without trying the local food fare. There are many restaurants there, some owned and managed by foreigners who have called Sagada their home. Aside from the local cuisine, you can also get American, British, and French cuisine from some of the restaurants.

So there you go, these are the top things you can do when you are in Sagada. Interested? Then start looking for tips on how to get to Sagada and begin your preparation for that trip today.
